about-us-banner3The Food Policy Council for KFL&A officially formed in July 2013 and consists of members from diverse areas of the food system.

The Council is working to fulfil the main purposes identified in the Food Policy Council framework report, which are to:

  • A strong relationship exists between our rural and urban communities which supports and advocates for our regional food system

  • Education/Coordination- foster dialogue and enhance connections between sectors in the food system.
  • Assessment- identify food system needs
  • Policy- inform and encourage changes in policy to support a healthy food system in KFL&A
